PASS PLUS.
Newly qualified drivers are more likely to have an accident within their first two years of driving than any other time in their driving career.
Pass Plus offers new drivers professional instruction which will help them to develop a positive driving style which will reduce their risk of being involved in an accident.
Pass Plus is a six module training syllabus which has been designed by the DSA to develop the skills of newly qualified drivers. Modules will not take the same amount of time to cover but each course must consist of a minimum of 6 hours training. This does not necessarily mean six sessions. The number of sessions will depend upon the ability of the individual pupil.
Drivers who successfully complete the syllabus will be offered cheaper car insurance by participating insurance companies.

The six modules are:-
Module 1. Introduction and Town Driving.
Driving in town can be daunting : rush hour traffic, complicated junctions and traffic systems. Learn how to deal with these and more.
Module 2. All Weather Driving.
Find out how to drive in all the different weather conditions such as rain, fog, bright sunshine, snow and ice.
Module 3. Out of Town Driving and Rural Roads.
Country roads can harbour all kinds of hazards, from sharp bends and potholes to farm vehicles and animals in the road.
Module 4. Night Driving.
Dealing with dazzle, judging distance and speed, using your lights correctly - these are some of the areas covered.
Module 5. Dual Carriageways.
To drive safely on fast, multi lane roads you'll need all your skills of observation, concentration, anticipation and lane discipline.
Module 6. Motorways.
Motorways are like no other roads : learn how to drive on them safely and correctly under expert supervision.
The course will be assessed by a Pass Plus registered Driving Instructor, and not a DSA Examiner. (The Instructor at Anston School of Motoring is Pass Plus registered). On successful completion of the syllabus, a Training Report Form will be sent to the Pass Plus Unit who will issue the pupil with a Certificate Of Completion, together with information and further details of participating Insurance companies and discounts offered.
